  • A Nampally court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Telugu actor-filmmaker Jeevitha and her actor husband Rajasekhar in a dud cheque case, police said on Monday.
  • Petitioner Paranadhama Reddy, a financier, filed a case after a cheque for Rs 36 lakh issued by the couple bounced due to insufficient funds in the account.
  • "The case was filed few months back, but the couple failed to appear in court despite being summoned several times. Therefore, the court issued a non-bailable warrant and directed the police to take them into custody before Oct 29 and produce them in the court," a police official of the Jubilee Hills station told IANS.
  • This is not the first time Rajasekhar and Jeevitha are involved in a cheque bounce case. In 2008 and 2010, they faced the similar cases.
  • A popular Telugu actor, Rajasekhar has starred in nearly 100 films in his over two-decade long career, including Ankusam and Praja Teerpu. Jeevitha is an actress-turned-filmmaker is remembered for her performance in Dharma Pathini and Maruthi. As a director, she has helmed films such as Satyameva Jayate and Mahankali.
