Mirchi is said to have been made at a budget of Rs 30 crore
Prabhas-starrer Telugu action-drama Mirchi raked in Rs 7.86 crore on its opening day worldwide.
The film is said to have been made at a budget of Rs 30 crore.
"This is probably the best ever opening for Prabhas. The film collected approximately Rs 7.86 crore on the day of the release. It managed to collect over Rs 6 crore in Andhra Pradesh alone," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Directed by debutant Koratala Siva, Mirchi, which released on February 8, features Prabhas Raju in the title role alongside Richa Gangopadhyay, Anushka Shetty. Other cast members include Sampath Raj, Subbaraju, Benarji, Sathyaraj, Nadhiya and Brahmanandam.
The story of the film revolves around Jai, played by Prabhas, who attempts to win people's hearts with love.
V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati have produced the film, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Madhi.
In overseas region, "Telugu film Mirchi collected Rs 50.45 lakh in US", tweeted Taran Adarsh.
