- Following the mysterious death of legendary filmmaker Ritwick Ghatak's granddaughter Aditi, her family members have lodged a police complaint alleging foul play, police said on Sunday.
- "An injured and unconscious Aditi was discovered beside the road in Sonarpur (city outskirt) on Friday. She was admitted to a private nursing home where she died on Sunday," an officer of the Tiljala police station under which the complaint was made said.
- "The mother of the victim Sangeeta has filed a first information report (FIR) alleging murder against three persons with whom Aditi had gone out Friday," added the officer.
- Aditi had gone out on Friday night with four of her friends, including a boy, without informing her mother. When Aditi did not return home, her mother had filed a missing person case.
- "If she had met with an accident then why was she found alone at the site? How come nothing happened to others? There is something wrong," alleged Sangeeta who on Sunday filed the FIR.
- State Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim visited the bereaved and has asked police to expedite the probe.
