Telugu Actor Ahuti Prasad Dies

Hyderabad: Popular Telugu character artist and comedian Adusumilli Janardhan Vara Prasad aka Ahuti Prasad passed away on January 4 at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 62.

"He was undergoing treatment for some health-related issues at our hospital for the last few days. He showed signs of improvement last week, but his condition worsened on Sunday morning and he died half an hour ago," a source from KIMS Hospital told IANS.

According to industry sources, Mr Ahuti Prasad was suffering from colon cancer.

He made his cinematic debut in 1988 Telugu film Ahuti. Since then, he starred in over 100 films, predominantly in Telugu, and one each in Tamil and Hindi as well. He played a small role in Amitabh Bachchan's film Sooryavansham.

Some of his best Telugu films include Malliswari, Bendu Apparao RMP, Indra and Chandamama.

He is survived by his wife and two sons Karthik and Bharani.
