With the Tamil film being a huge success, as well as its Telugu counterpart, director P Vasu has decided to move the tale of Chandramukhi forward with a sequel that is titled Nagavalli in Telugu. This time around the lead will be played by actor Venkatesh in the lead role of a psychiatrist, instead of superstar Rajinikanth.

Chandramukhi is a 2005 horror film that carries elements of humour and drama.

Part 2 will see Venkatesh playing three characters, with as many as seven actresses sharing his screen space.

Venkatesh said in an interview, "People at the home say either Rajini or Venky has to be in a film. So I thank Rajini's character for giving me this opportunity."

Chandramukhi and its versions in different languages were accompanied by tales of tragic incidents involving the the cast and crew of the films either during or after the films were shot. Venkatesh says he wasn't bothered about the fear factor before signing the film.

The actor further added, "This fear factor is all in the mind. I am the kind of person who looks beyond the mind."
