Let's get the bad news out of the way first. And that's called Terminator Salvation. It's quite clearly a disaster of a film that only has one special effects disaster sequences to show for, one after another. Those familiar with the popular sci-fi Terminator series will know this one will be battle between human beings and killer machines.

The film is set in 2018. What surprises me is how in such little time, the robotic Skynet army has evolved so much in artificial intelligence. As usual, John Conner leads a resistance movement against Skynet.

Actually what on earth are the humans and machines fighting for is what I want to know. It can't be about the control of the planet. As we see on the screen, there is nothing left on earth, which resembles a war-ravaged Afghanistan or even worse.

There is a humanoid or a robot who could either be friendly to humans or an insider plan. Trust me you wouldn't care. Because the movie hasn't bothered itself with stories or even characters. It's just a silly, humourless story-board where everything just keeps crashing and ramming into something or the other.

There are not even dialogues. Or actually there is one that gets repeated: You put a gun at someone, you better be ready to pull the trigger.. Wow, profound for a video-game, which this film should have just been.

I didn't think I'd ever say this. I missed Arnold Schwarrzeneger throughout. He does make a cameo in a computer-generated image. And that's the only time you're even vaguely excited!

Surfer Speaks....
Good continuation but Arnold absence stills worries fans though there is animated appearance.

Action in this 4th edition is understandingly(since its 2009 now) way better than all editions.however i felt thats where director McG messed up.The action element was highlighted to the extent of ignoring the human element.Script witing was horrible.Even I could have written better! It restricted lead actor Christian Bale's acting skills. When we talk about a war between mankind and machines, thats where spine tingling speeches and dialouges where required from human resistance leader John Connor. The Terminator franchise has a beautiful and ingeniously well thought storyline.Hence handling of that requires good handling with responsibility.not cold computer generated high quality graphics.A well worked dramatic angle was missing.Otherwise(as its said in the film itself)..'What would be the difference between us and the machines?'
