The third release this week is Dhol, which is directed by one of India's most prolific directors Priyadarshan.
Priyan has made over 60 films in five languages. But perhaps the frantic creativity is taking a toll. Priyan seems to have sleepwalked through Dhol.
The film is a comic thriller, which means a series of disconnected gags have been strung around a mysterious suicide and a villain called Zikomo.
Unfortunately the gags aren't funny and the suspense is limp.
What you get is bad acting, an incoherent plot line, foolish dialogue and eye-sore costumes. The characters keep telling each other: Kalti Maar, which is bombay slang for runaway.
I suggest viewers do the same.
