Mumbai: Actor Anil Kapoor was perhaps the first Bollywood A-list star to break into Hollywood with Mission Impossible and Slumdog Millionaire. Not to mention, his much talked about cameo in the US television series 24. The Jhakaas actor is now back on American TV and this time, he will star in the animated cult TV series Family Guy.

"It was very exciting to be a part of such a cult show which interestingly had gone off air after its first few seasons starting 1999. But today, it's one of the biggest TV series in the world and actors like Brad Pitt, Liam Neeson and Mathew McConaughey have already been a part of it. So it was a lot of fun to be on the show" said Mr Kapoor in an interview to NDTV.

The last time Mr Kapoor did a cameo for a TV series in the US, he also ended up bringing it back to India for a remake. With Family Guy, Mr Kapoor has no such plans.

"I don't think India is ready for an adult animated series. I did the cameo because they wanted to spoof my character from Slumdog Millionaire. As of now, there are no plans of getting Family Guy back home" said Mr Kapoor.

The TV series which Mr Kapoor has acquired rights for is Prison Break. And while he is currently neck deep in the shooting of 24 season 2, he is soon looking to start work on the super hit American thriller from 2005 starring Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell.

"Scripts like 24 and Prison Break work well with the Indian sensibilities. So it's great to acquire these and remake them in India keeping the quality intact. I think it is another form of make in India that we have been talking about so much lately" Mr Kapoor added.

The first trailer of 24 will release in June this year and work on the Prison Break series will start as soon as 24 hits the small screen.
