Mumbai:

Former Bigg Boss 4 inmate Veena Malik bursts into tears during an interview, while claiming there was nothing immoral about her relationship with Ashmit Patel on the show.

"All criticism is baseless, because it is being hurled without knowing the actual facts," Veena said in an interview with the Express TV Friday night.

"I belong to the entertainment industry and have not done anything that I have not done before," she said.

The actress defends her acts saying it was just the entertainment industry, and not her country, that she was representing on the show.

"I know my limits. I abstained from any overt display of affection, did not wear anything revealing either." she said. "I was there to promote love and a spirit of friendship and have no regrets in doing so."

Responding to a question, Veena denied having anything that could be remotely termed 'immoral' on national television.

"I was as close to Ashmit as any other inmate of the house," she said.

"I performed namaz in the Big Boss house and  got Ashmit to pray with me," she explains, producing a video as proof.

Meanwhile, Ashmit Patel, speaking on phone from Mumbai during the interview, said that he had prayed because he found the movements in namaz "very much like yoga".

"I don't believe in religion. Respecting all religions and finding out more about every religion is, however, not completely out of the ordinary," he said, adding that he found peace performing namaz.

An Islamic cleric, Mufti Abdul Baqi said: "Veena has shamed all Pakistanis and Muslims with her indecent acts on the show."

"I want to tell her that she has not done justice to her talent. If she has done something which might make her uncomfortable in future, then it's all in vain," he said, asking her to mend her ways.

"It is to my credit that I spent 84 days in the house against all odds," she argues back, bursting into tears finally!

Most Pakistanis think Veena's acts were condemnable, particularly because of the highly sensitive diplomatic relations between the two countries.
