Pratyusha was born on August 10, 1991. Originally from Jamshedpur, the actress shifted to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. Her first big break came with the pouplar TV soap Balika Vadhu in which she played the older version of the character Anandi, a role she performed from 2010 to 2013. In 2012, she apeared as a contestant on the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5. A controversial stint on Bigg Boss followed along with appearances in a string of shows including Hum Hain Na, Sasural Simar Ka, Gulmohar Grand, Kumkum Bhagya and 2016's Man Mein Hai Vishwaas 2. The actress was last seen with her fiance Rahul on reality show Power Couple.

Pratyusha is just one among an alarmingly large number of actors who have had their careers cut short by their premature death. Last month, TV Anchor Nirosha and South actor Sai Prashanth committed suicide. Actress Aarthi Agarwal was just 31 when she died of a cardiac arrest in 2015 after reportedly having had liposuction. In 2013, Jiah Khan's alleged suicide sent shockwaves through Bollywood. In 2000, the popular South actress Viji, killed herself at the age of 34 after a failed love affair.
