New Delhi: Model-turned-reality TV star Pravesh Rana is all set to anchor the curtain raiser for 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) as he prepares to spice up the games for the television audience.

Mr India 2008, Rana was first seen on the small screen in Big Boss 3, one of the top two finalist. He then went ahead to anchor kids dance reality show Chak Dhoom Dhoom and now the curtain raiser for the games (October 3-14) on Doordarshan.

"I am very lucky to have this privilege. Our country is hosting this for the first time and I wish that games become a big hit because till now the situation has been a little difficult. But I am sure we are going to handle all well in the end," Pravesh told PTI.

But how did he land up with the show?

"I think they chose me because I am a sportsman myself. I have played basketball at the national level. Also I have always made a point to keep myself updated with all the sports events happening," said Rana.

The model said that he is learning more about the games so that he makes it easy and interesting for the viewers.

"I will make sure that people get curious to know and learn more about it. It will be informative but not boring. It will have the flavour of entertainment. The chats with various coaches, players, High Commissioners of different countries will be casual but at the same time informative," he said.

Rana would also try to find out why and how one country is good at a particular sport and what others can do to become better.

"For example no one can beat Australia in swimming so what is it that they have which we lack you know... things like that so we can learn from them and make sure we do better in our games," he added.

Apart from the CWG curtain raiser, Rana has also been roped in to host the UTV Bindaas' Emotional Atyachar 2.

With lots of melodrama, tears and action, the show is about people conducting a "loyalty test" on the partners, who are most of the times caught cheating.

"Earlier the show had people from Mumbai, Pune but this time we have shifted our attention to north India. Over here the emotional quotient is far more comparatively and the relationships are more intense. So in the second season it will be a double dose of all the emotions, love, heartbreak etc," said Rana.

"I am also going to find why this trend has come all of a sudden that so many people are cheating on their partners," he added.

He may be the new 'agony aunt' for the people reeling from Emotional Atyachaar but has he gone through some heartbreak in real life?

"Oh no. I have been single most of my life. I have met some really interesting people but that never culminated in long relationship. Actually all my attention have always been fixed on to my career and I believe there is no point being in a relationship when you can't give enough time. I guess I would have to leave it upon my parents to find the right one," Rana said.

Emotional Atyachar season two will be on air fromAugust 7 on UTV Bindaas.
