VJ Andy: Survived in Bigg Boss because of Salman Khan

Andy says Salman Khan guided him like a big brother.

Highlights

  • VJ Andy, one of the strongest contenders of Bigg Boss - Saath 7, was evicted on Wednesday (December 25, 2013) as part of the mid-week elimination. He says that the show's format is such that the inmates find it difficult to trust anyone.
  • Andy says the Bollywood superstar and the show's host Salman Khan guided him and encouraged him like a big brother.
  • "The show's format is such that everyone goes through a lot of stress. It was actually difficult to trust anyone. People coming from outside would say that the audience doesn't like me, but the Saturday and Sunday episodes used to give me a boost.
  • If it was not for Salman Khan, I don't think I would have sustained for so long in the show. He used to tell me 'Andy, tum bahut accha ja rahe ho.' (Andy, you are going good.) and 'The audience outside loves you a lot.’ So those were the things that encouraged me. He guided me like a big brother." He said.
  • The 33-year-old is upset that he was evicted just three days before the finale, but says it feels good to see ‘friendly faces’.
  • "Making it to the top five was pretty difficult. And it was just three more days to the finale. But it feels good to see some friendly faces. My family has come down to see me."
  • He describes Bigg Boss as a strange journey.
  • As for friends, Andy says he made two very good friends, Tanishaa Mukherji and Shilpa Agnihotri.
  • "Shilpa was a good friend. She used to tell me what to do and what not to do. She used to say, 'Abhi game shuru ho gayi hai' (The game has started), or 'They have formed a group.’ And I used to wonder how she knew so much. But she helped me a lot during her stay in the show." He added.
  • Asked if people behave in a certain way for the camera, Andy agreed to it and said, "I have done things for the camera, like making faces or dancing. But there are a few people who use the camera."
  • "Ajaz was one of the contestants who used to talk to the cameras a lot, and we used to wonder - 'What is he doing?' and 'Who he really is?' But, it was not just him even others have done things just for the camera." He added.
