He later apologised to Jimmy but the host seemed unfazed and revealed that he enjoyed the surprise move.
On the show, Mr Depp discussed the infamous video in which he and Ms Heard apologised to the Australian government for illegally brining their pet dogs to the country.
Speaking about the video, Mr Depp said: "I think (it was) the choice they made to utilise the taxpayers' dollars to globally chase down a couple of teacup Yorkies and give them 50 hours to live." He also said: "I realised the badness of my ways. So I was kind of repenting."
