On Monday night, actress Priyanka Chopra was spotted at the Mumbai airport with her mother Madhu Chopra. This year the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will honour the Quantico star. The 35-year-old actress will also be the guest of honour at the fundraiser event on September 6.
Actress Disha Patani who won the Fresh Face Award at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2017 stole the show in a stylish black gown by Nikhil Thampi. At the red carpet, she was asked by reporters which actress she looks up to, Disha said, "I love Priyanka Chopra mainly because she is a self-made woman."
Akshay Kumar received his National Award for Best Actor from President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday. The ceremony was held in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Other awardees included Dangal star Zaira Wasim who won Best Supporting Actress, Mohanlal who received the Jury Award, and Sonam Kapoor who was given a Special Mention for her work in Neerja. Neerja, the story of slain Pan Am flight stewardess Neerja Bhanot, won the National Award for Best Hindi Film.
The Marathi language Kasav won Best Feature Film and Ventilator, produced by Priyanka Chopra, won three awards including Best Director for Rajesh Mapuskar. However, when asked who should play her husband music composer R D Burman and sister singer Lata Mangeshkar, this is what she said: "I don't think there is anyone else required to depict my life onscreen.
