"It has been a great year with lots of exciting work happening. I have been extensively travelling for shoots and promotions. I'm looking forward to spend some quality time with my family before I start my next film with Anup Singh," Irrfan said, whose film Jazbaa will release on October 9

"Audience wasn't ready when Haasil released. People still watch it and relate to the film, especially today's youngsters. But during that time, the audience wasn't prepared because they didn't have a place to watch these kind of films. Then multiplexes came and changed everything, pulling in the middle class crowd," said Irrfan Khan

"The film suffers sometimes because of the large money spent on promotions. The burden of promotions inevitably comes on the film. And the directors and actors are judged by the business which the film is doing. Audience decides what to watch or not from the trailer. Besides that all what we are doing is filling the space," said Irrfan

"Yes, lots of actresses today want to work more in offbeat cinema. Deepika Padukone did it in Piku. Most actresses would say 'This film does not have dancing or singing, then why should I do it?' But see, Deepika is a top star and she did it beautifully," Irrfan told IANS
