    Veteran actor Anupam Kher cancelled his visit to the Karachi Literature Festival after his visa was allegedly cancelled by Pakistan. "I am very sad and disappointed that out of 18 participants, 17 were given visa and I was denied," Mr Kher said.

    Thanuppu is a Malayalam short film about a strange young boy, who lives with his mother. He has a very weird habit of eating ice-creams in every toilet he finds. None of the boys of his age wants to be his friends because of this habit. But once you find out the reason it will touch your heart.

    In her review of director Neeraj Ghaywan's Masaan, critic Anupama Chopra says, "Debutant director Neeraj Ghaywan constructs a tapestry of bruised and broken lives. The first 15 minutes are so startling and sad that you wonder what next. A young spirited woman grapples with tragedy and blackmail, a young boy falls in love but the sweet giddy encounters between him and his girlfriend are shadowed by his caste." She gave the film a four-star rating.
