Hamari Adhuri Kahani has well-etched characters but it's cliched and archaic
Bobby Jasoos has no item numbers, no cheap thrills, and none of the usual trappings of a wannabe blockbuster.
Despite charming performances from Vidya & Farhan, this has nothing new to offer
If you were hoping that animation films would come of age with this purported epic, you are in for a disappointment. Though the characters from the Mahabharat have faces and voices of the biggest stars, the images do not add up to a compelling canvas. Not by a wide margin.
Vidya attended the trailer launch dressed as her character Durga Rani Singh. She also revealed that she likes to promote the film in character
"I don't put my hands on anyone's shoulder to stand tall. Please don't misinterpret me. I feel very proud of standing on my own feet," she said
"Many times it happens that though I like the story and the character I have been asked to play, I do not take that up. As an actress, I tend to contribute to the film. So, I choose a film that I can do justice to," Vidya said
"When we set out to make this film, we made a very conscious decision not to have anything attached to Kahaani. We made a separate story; it has to be completely independent. We are going to be compared so rather not attach any spill over from Kahaani," said Sujoy Ghosh
Nawazuddin Siddiqui will play the role of Manto in a biopic directed by Nandita Das. Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is also gearing up for the biopic on Kamla Das.
Vidya Balan is reportedly upset because of the sudden release of the Hindi version of Malayalam film Urumi in which she did a cameo role six years ago. The posters however suggest that Vidya has a full-fledged role in the film, which she thinks can be misleading for fans.
Actress Vidya Balan said that she wants to explore her 'dark side' and is on the hunt for "good scripts" that allow her to do that, at a recent book launch event in Mumbai. The Kahaani star, who will next be seen with Amitabh Bachchan in Te3n, said: "It was wonderful working with Big B."
