Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro starring Hrithik Roshan released this Friday. It is based in the era of Indus Valley civilisation. The film marks Pooja Hegde's debut in acting and also casts Kabir Bedi, Arunoday Singh, Nitish Bharadwaj and Suhasini Mulay. Ashutosh has also directed films like Lagaan and Jodhaa Akhbar.
In an interview with NDTV, Hrithik Roshan responded to critics who pointed out historical inaccuracies in his new film Mohenjo Daro. "You know, there are theories. There is no recorded proof. It's pre-history. So there is no record of whether it's accurate or it's not accurate. There are just theories which have been floated by historians. So the director had to pick one theory and construct his story, his film on that foundation. So he has used one theory," Hrithik told NDTV.
Akshay Kumar's Rustom and Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro will release on August 12 and Akshay said that both films should do well. "It's a big week which has about four to five holidays. History shows that two films at one time, when they release, can both do well. So we hope that history repeats again," Akshay Kumar told NDTV.
"Mohenjo Daro is not a documentary," said Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde, who is making her debut in Bollywood with the film. "It's fact mixed with fiction," she added.
Ashutosh Gowariker has tried his luck with historicals and now the director says he may make a sci-fi film based in the future.
