  • Ahana Deol, daughter of actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini and sister of actress Esha, married businessman Vaibhav Vora in grand style on February 2 in Mumbai.
  • The bride wore a peach and silver Manish Malhotra creation to the reception after the wedding while the groom wore a black sherwani.
  • Esha Deol wore a glittering single-shouldered red dress. Hema Malini was resplendent in a traditional kanjivaram.
  • The wedding was a mix of Punjabi and South Indian customs and rituals and the bride's mother Hema Malini told news agency IANS ahead of the nuptials: "Like a true Hindi film my daughter's wedding will have two halves. The first-half of the wedding ceremony would be done in Punjabi style. The second-half of the wedding would be done in Tamil style." She also said that there would be "two pundits (priests), one from north India and the other from the south."
  • The guest list read like a who's who of Bollywood. The Bachchans made a colour-coordinated picture with Aishwarya and mother-in-law Jaya in pink and red and the father-son Amitabh and Abhishek in black. The elder Bachchans and the Deols are, of course, old friends, having co-starred in the landmark Sholay together.
  • Shah Rukh Khan, who was directed by Hema Malini in one of his very first films - 1992's Dil Ashna Hai co-starring Divya Bharti - made it to the wedding on crutches, having injured himself while shooting Happy New Year some days earlier.
  • All dressed up in an orange and gold Jade sari was SRK's Happy New Year co-star Deepika Padukone. Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who came with mother Poonam, was lovely in a purple lehenga-sari.
  • Actress Rekha, who appeared with Dharmendra in movies like Ram Balram and Keemat, was her usual stunning self in a kanjivaram and had on more than her regular quota of jewellery.
  • Also present at the wedding was actor Jeetendra, Sonakshi's father, who was reportedly one of Hema Malini's suitors once upon a time, before marrying Poonam Sinha.
  • Singer Asha Bhosle was there, as were Sholay writer Javed Akhtar with wife Shabana Azmi, and Sholay director Ramesh Sippy with wife Kiran.
  • Deol sons Sunny and Bobby, Ahana's half-brothers, skipped the celebrations as expected but family numbers were shored up by Dharmendra's nephew actor Abhay Deol and Hema's cousin actress Madhoo.
