New Delhi: Bollywood's 'Girl Rising' Alia Bhatt turns 23 today and it seems the young actress is getting wiser with each passing year.

Asked by a fan about whether she was living up to her own expectations, Alia, who was promoting her upcoming film Kapoor And Sons at the NDTV studio, responded, "I think that I feel like I'm competing with myself. I feel a huge amount of responsibility. When Shaandaar didn't do too well, I wasn't just upset for myself but also upset that I let the audience down. Having said that, I don't take my decisions based on what people will think or may think or what they expect of me. In that case, I won't be able to take risks since I will be too conscious and I won't have fun and will die. I have started a new rule now for this year. In each film that I start work on, I am going to forget about what I did in the past. So now each time I am starting afresh."

The actress denied that she was doing any film with Hrithik Roshan. About working in director Gauri Shinde's next film with Shah Rukh Khan, she revealed, "I honestly feel excited and grateful at this point. Our films have reached a point where there are just not love stories being made. Therefore, there is so much scope for actors like me to do a film opposite a Shah Rukh Khan, since there are different stories and character-based narratives. For example, even Kapoor And Sons is not a boy-girl girl-boy story. It's about characters, therefore exciting times."

However, in her trademark zest, Alia said the one rumor she wished that was true was the one about her doing a Hollywood film. There is nothing in the pipeline and her word of advice for all her co -stars seems to be 'calm.'
