Justice Gautam Patel, however, directed that all the proceeds of the film should not be touched and kept aside during the pending of the notice of motion taken out in the suit.

The notice of motion taken out by the plaintiff, Mahim Joshi, in the suit filed by him had urged the court to stay the television release of the film which has run housefull shows since its release on Eid this year.

The high court said it was not inclined to grant a stay on the TV premier show but ordered that the proceeds of the film should be kept separately until the matter was decided.

The plaintiff pleaded that he had written the story and had registered it with the Film Writers Association.

However, he was surprised to find after viewing the film that it was plagiarised. Hence, he had filed a suit seeking a credit line for the story and suitable compensation for using his script.

The high court has posted the matter for further hearing on October 20.

The film tells the story of a man who helps a speech-impaired girl reach her home in Pakistan after getting lost in India.
