New Delhi: The 'something special' that actress Deepika Padukone promised was coming up on Thursday is this, the logo for her new foundation to help those battling mental illnesses:

On Wednesday, Deepika put out a teaser tweet. It did not, after all, refer to her new film Bajirao Mastani as speculation suggested:

In June, the 29-year-old actress announced on Twitter that the foundation had been registered: "The Live Love Laugh Foundation registered today!Official launch in the next few months!will keep you'll posted!Thank you for all the love!" Deepika, last seen in the hit film Piku, has spoken at length about her own battle with depression and seeking medical intervention. In an interview with NDTV's Barkha Dutt in March, she said that she felt 'empty and directionless' and that she would often lock herself in her bathroom or vanity van and cry. "Impacting lives and saving people" is what Deepika said her foundation intended to do. "Other than creating awareness and trying to remove the stigma that is attached to mental illness is also going to be prevention, cure and you know hopefully we will be able to provide psychologists and so on and so forth. As the foundation grows in scale, hopefully we will be able to do a lot more but I think this is what we are focusing on right now that is prevention, creating awareness and sort to remove this stigma, most importantly," she told NDTV.

Deepika's next film is the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Bajirao Mastani, co-starring Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra, coming up this December.
