Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput's alleged break-up with longtime sweetheart Ankita Lokhande has kept the gossip mills buzzing over the last week although the actress recently expressed shock over the speculations, calling them "unnecessary and uncalled for". Her reaction may be perceived as being in denial and reluctance to move on following the end of a six-year committed relationship rife with ups and downs. However, if friends of the couple are to be believed, Ankita is indeed clueless about their current relationship status.

"Sushant has still not told Ankita if he wants to be in the relationship or maintain a single status for some time since everyone wants to talk only about his love life. This could also be a PR exercise so that people talk only about his work and upcoming film, biopic on cricketer MS Dhoni. Publicity gimmick or otherwise, he is yet to clarify his stand to Ankita," says a friend. (Also Read: "Not a Good Feeling": Sushant Singh Rajput on Break-up With Ankita)

The actor is now on a two-month shooting schedule for Dinesh Vijan's Raabta in Bucharest. Disturbed over the split buzz, Ankita is said to have reached out to Sushant, but apparently wasn't able to get anything out of him. In fact, when the rumours first surfaced, she tried to play them down by tweeting, "Don't feel alone I'm always there in ur heart, in ur life @itsSSR (sic)" with a red heart attached to it. Reports also suggested that Sushant has walked out of their love nest in Malad, but his car is still parked outside their house. "His intentions are unclear but Ankita wants their relationship to culminate in marriage sooner rather than later. But with such confusion around their love life, she is feeling hurt and lonely," adds the friend.

Other ex-tremes

In the last few days, this is how two other celebs have dealt with their "exes"

Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma

After the cricketer single-handedly powered India into the semi-finals of the ongoing World T20 match with a 82-run knock against Australia on Sunday, Internet trolls were out in full strength, spitting venom at Anushka Sharma. In vicious posts, they thanked the actress for "breaking up" with Virat, thereby helping him perform better - until then, they had been slamming her for "distracting" Virat with her presence at cricket stadiums. However, with an expansive post on Instagram, Virat not only blasted trolls but also subtly put rumours of his split with Anushka to rest. He wrote, "Shame on those people who have been having a go at Anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated.

"Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what i do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity. This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And i on't need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Think of how your sister or girlfriend or wife would feel if someone trolled them and very conveniently rubbished them in public (sic)."

Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut

Early last month, the actor sent a legal notice to Kangana demanding a public apology for "defaming" him - he was apparently referring to an interview in which she had said, "I don't know why exes do silly things to get your attention". He alleged that the actress was trying to create an image of her and Hrithik having had a relationship and that she had been conversing with his impostor and sending "titillating, absurd and senseless photographs to his original email-id". Not in the mood to back down, Kangana responded with a 21-page notice of her own, accusing him of spreading "bogus, false, misleading and blatant lies". Recently, Hrithik named Kangana in his FIR over the fake e-mail address case (in December 2014, he had approached the cyber-crime cell to complain about an impersonator without naming the actress). The cyber police issued summons to the National Award winning actress, asking her to visit them and record her statement.

Her sister, Rangoli has also been summoned since she was allegedly privy to the e-mails exchanged between Kangana and the alleged impostor. Kangs' lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee has responded to the summons stating "The witness summons sent to my client and her sister by the police officer is patently illegal, as no woman can ever be called to the police station to record their statements as per the provisions of law. Nonetheless my client who is shown to be a victim as per the claims of Mr Hrithik Roshan has herself willingly expressed her desire to co-operate with the officers in accordance to the provisions of law, as well as in her reply to the summons she has duly reserved her rights to file an appropriate criminal complaint against Mr Hrithik Roshan and his associates for hacking two of her email accounts, which includes the id from which Mr Hrithik Roshan admittedly claims to have personally received about 1439 emails from my client on his correct email id as well the email from which my client was communicating with the alleged impostor."
