Ekta Kapoor Denies Taking Sanjay Dutt to Court, Says He's Like Family

Ekta Kapoor and Maanayata Dutt clear the air around baseless rumours

Mumbai:

Producer Ekta Kapoor has dismissed reports that she is taking jailed actor Sanjay Dutt to court over a sum of Rs 1.5 crores that she is allegedly owed by him.

In a statement to the press, Balaji boss Ekta said, "I value relationships more than money. The Dutt family is like an extended family to me. I would never think of bothering bhabhi with such a trivial matter, knowing that Sanju sir is not around. I am looking forward to working with the Dutts soon."

Sanjay's wife Maanayata also issued a statement that said, "It is unfortunate that people, be it friends or foes, while being misinformed themselves become sources of such stories, and it is not even considered fit that things be confirmed with the concerned person and his family. We have the highest regards for Jeetu uncle, Shobha aunty and Ekta. We are looking forward for a long working association in the near future with Balaji."

Recent reports stated that Ekta Kapoor had filed a lawsuit against Sanjay claiming that the signing amount she had paid the actor in 2008 had not been returned.

Ekta, daughter of actor Jeetendra, heads the very successful production house Balaji Telefilms and its sister company Balaji Motion Pictures.

Sanjay Dutt, who will be seen in Aamir Khan's PK next month, is currently serving the remainder of his five-year jail term in connection with the Bombay blasts case.
