The first look of director Ram Gopal Varma upcoming film
Veerappan is a quick recap of the life of the forest brigand and the search operation launched to lure him out of the forest by a special task force. #VeerappanTrailer started trending on Twitter soon after the trailer was released.
The over two minute-long video is filled with chase sequences and grueseome scenes which show Veerappan claiming lives and unleashing his terror on people and the search teams. Sandeep Bhardwaj plays the titular role. Actress Usha Jadhav plays Veerappan's wife.
Set in the backdrop of the Operation Cocoon, the film is based on the real-life mission headed by the Commander of the Tamil Nadu Special Task Force, Vijay Kumar, who masterminded the final assault on Veerappan.
The film, which also co-stars Sachiin Joshi and Lisa Ray, opens on May 27.
