Actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, who were hosting the event, kept their audience entertained in-between performances. Ranveer, the youngest Mehra of the Dil Dhadakne Do family, punctuated his jokes by going down on bended knee to rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone and handing her - no, not a ring - a red heart. Deepika was on stage to collect the Woman of the Year award.
Dressed in striped tuxedos and top hats, Gunday co-stars Ranveer and Arjun spared nobody and took no prisoners - from Aamir Khan to Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar to Shahid Kapoor, there was a wisecrack for everyone.
The performances included Sonakshi Sinha's Lungi Dance, complete with checked lungi and sunglasses.
PK actress Anushka Sharma performed looking snazzy in a golden dress, somewhat similar to her flapper girl garb in the song Girls Like To Swing in her new movie Dil Dhadakne Do in which she plays a dancer.
ABCD2 star Shraddha Kapoor's confident dance performance received much applause from the audience.
Hrithik Roshan had the crowd in thrall, as he does. On day one of IIFA weekend, he performed briefly for fans at the Pavilion mall in Kuala Lumpur.
Shahid Kapoor, who won the Best Actor award for Haider, received loud cheers and applause for his unusual dance performance.
Later in the evening, Best Debut (Male) awardee Tiger Shroff left Ranveer, Arjun and Hrithik gaping in awe with his back flip.
The three-day IIFA weekend included the musical extravaganza IIFA Rocks and a special screening of Dil Dhadakne Do, and concluded with awards night on Sunday.
