New Delhi: Actor Rishi Kapoor trended on Twitter for much of Wednesday after his tweets on roads and buildings named after the Gandhi family.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday night, the 63-year-old actor used strong words to slam the christening of what he termed 'Gandhi family assets.' "Baap ka maal samajh rakha tha? Har cheez Gandhi ke naam?"

Twitter was instantly provoked into responding. Several users agreed that roads should be renamed, many others rushed to remind Mr Kapoor that, like the Gandhis, he too belongs to a powerful dynasty.
