Highlights

  • Looks like Kiran Rao is getting ready to wear another feather in her cap. Close on the heels of reports that Kiran will be making her acting debut in husband Aamir Khan's upcoming film, sources say that the filmmaker will walk the ramp soon -- something she hasn't done before.
  • Fashion designer Vikram Phadnis is collaborating with an NGO -- Swades, headed by Zarine Mehta and has adopted 227 villages in Maharashtra -- to come up with a rural-inspired fashion line for the Mumbai fashion week next week. And Kiran has apparently agreed to sashay down the catwalk for the organisation that focuses mainly on water, sanitation, education and health in the interiors.
  • Apparently, the non-urbane theme also excited the director. "Kiran agreed to the project because the event has a lot to do with rural empowerment as well as employment. Or else, you don't get to see her at such dos," says a source.
  • Kiran will be seen wearing a creation by Vikram. In fact, the couturier had even travelled to Raigad-Ratnagiri area to gain inspiration for his work. However, Kiran won't be the only Bollywood face at the show. Aayushman Khuraana, Abhishek Kapoor, Sushant Singh, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav are slated to walk the ramp as well.
