New Delhi:
Actress Lisa Haydon, who
recently married UK-based entrepreneur Dino Lalvani, has posted a series of tweets making it clear that her father-in-law, Gulu Lalvani, is not Pakistani, as claimed in a report that appeared in a publication.
Binatone founder Gulu Lalvani was born in Karachi and left during Partition and became an Indian citizen. He is now a British subject.
Lisa, 30, posted indignant tweets that read: "My husband is Indian. My father-in-law, Gulu Lalvani, was born in pre-partition India and was thrown out of what is today called Pakistan. To call someone, who has gone through the struggles of partition, non-Indian is absurd."
She added:
Gulu Lalvani co-founded British telecommunications company Binatone with his brother in 1958. His son Dino now runs the company.
Lisa made her wedding announcement on Instagram on October 30 with a "Just Married" snap:
