Actor Varun Dhawan joins the big league of Bollywood dancers with his solo performance in just-released song
Chunar from upcoming dance drama film
Any Body Can Dance 2. Unlike the peppy dance numbers like
Naach Meri Jaan and
Happy Hour, this song is a soulful melancholic track sung by Arijit Singh.
Chunar starts with the rejection of Varun and Shraddha Kapoor's team at a dance competition which forces the former to revisit gloomy memories from his past, which involves his dancer-mother played by Prachi Shah.
The contemporary dance piece involves gymnastic moves and a suspended-spin stunt, similar to that of Isha Sharvani's famous routine in
Kisna.
ABCD 2, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhu Deva, is directed by Remo D'Souza and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur's UTV Disney. The film is slated to release in 2D and 3D formats on June 19.
