New Delhi:
Taapsee Pannu's latest film
Naam Shabana collected Rs 1.80 crore on Wednesday, sixth day of its release, bringing the total collection to Rs 25.60 crore in almost a week. The film started on a promising note, collecting
Rs 5.12 crore on opening day but after the weekend the collection rate dipped to Rs 2 crore and now less. This week SS Rajamouli's 2015 film
Baahubali: The Beginning will re-release (as a refresher for its sequel,
Baahubali: The Conclusion, releasing on April 28) and it may have an impact on
Naam Shabana's meagre ticket sales.
Taran Adarsh gave a day-wise breakup of Naam Shabana's collection: Naam Shabana, also starring Manoj Bajpayee and Anupam Kher, released to favourable reviews on March 31. The film is a spin-off of Akshay Kumar's sleeper hit
Baby which released in 2015. The film is about secret agent Shabana journey in the secret services which made her a part of Akshay's team in
Baby. "Taapsee Pannu, in Shabana's guise, comes out swinging," Saibal Chatterjee wrote in his
review for NDTV. For Akshay, who has a cameo in the film, he said: Taapsee's phlegmatic action heroine act, which is helped along by a value-enhancing cameo by a swaggering Akshay Kumar, gives the film its occasional high points." He gave the film 2 stars out of five.
