Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor, whose last two releases Roy and Bombay Velvet failed to perform at the box office, said that actors deserve to be criticised if the movies don't do well.

"I think an actor is given a lot of credit when the film is a hit. When my films do well, I'm showered with love and appreciation. So, when my film does not do well, the criticism should be for me," Ranbir said at the Puma home kit launch for Mumbai City FC, which he co-owns. "I should be criticized because the movie was my choice; I worked in it; the audience showed faith in me and came to see the movie and when they don't like it, the result should be for me," he added.

His football team didn't perform well last season but Ranbir took it graciously.

"It is necessary for an actor or a sportsman to graciously accept both loss and success. Humility and goodness are very important. They are an actor's virtues," he said.

Speaking about his colleagues and co-players, he said: "Many people from the (film) industry play football. But in my humble opinion, I am the best player in the industry. I have heard Shah Rukh Khan plays football really well, even John Abraham was a school captain. I have not played with them but amongst those playing now, I am the best."

When asked about whether girlfriend Katrina Kaif would be present to support the Ranbir's team in upcoming tournaments, Ranbir said that not only him, but everybody would love to see the Jagga Jasoos actress cheer for the team. He also said that Katrina is expected to attend forthcoming matches if she is free at that point in time. (Also Read: Why the Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif Romance Won't Help Jagga Jasoos)
