Ranveer Singh said that he is hopes that Salman Khan likes his performance as Peshwa Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
Bajirao Mastani.
Salman was Mr Bhansali's initial choice for the role. Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan were reportedly approached for the project before Ranveer was finalised as Bajirao. Things did not work out and the role eventually landed in Ranveer's lap.
When asked if the actor discussed the role with Salman, Ranveer, 30, said, "No. I didn't get to meet him. Last few times that I met him were during
Bajrangi Bhaijaan and recently on
Bigg Boss, where I went to promote the movie. I didn't take any tips from him."
"This (role) is my creation. I know he was to play the role but I hope he likes my work. I hope he gives a pat on my back," he said.
