Salman Khan Cites 'Ear-Ache' for Not Coming to Rajasthan Court in Arms Case

Jodhpur: Actor Salman Khan, who was summoned by a local court in Jodhpur to record his statement in the Arms Act case against him today, failed to appear for the hearing citing health reasons. The court has now asked him to be present on April 29.

His lawyer told the court that the actor is suffering from ear-ache and hence cannot undertake air travel to be in Jodhpur for the case.

Mr Khan's sister Alvira was present in the court for the hearing.

The case is an offshoot of the poaching cases against the 49-year-old actor who is accused of killing three chinkaras and a black buck during his stay in Jodhpur, while shooting for the film Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998.

The licenses of his weapons were found to have expired, so the forest department also slapped a case under the Arms Act against him.

The verdict in the 16-year-old case was to have come on February 25.

But on the day the CJM was to pronounce the verdict, the prosecution moved a nine-year-old application, asking the court to consider additional witnesses and more documents.

The court deferred the verdict and the prosecution was allowed to present four more witnesses, a forensic report and additional evidence.

With more witnesses being brought in this case, Mr Khan is now required to record his statement again.
