Superstar Salman Khan has thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his government for making his latest offering,
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, tax-free in the state.
The 49-year-old actor took to microblogging site Twitter on July 23 to thank the Uttar Pradesh government.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which surpassed the 100 crore mark in its opening weekend itself, was made tax-free after director Kabir Khan requested the Chief Minister, in a meeting.
During the meeting, Akhilesh told Kabir that the state offers immense possibilities for film production and the state government has unveiled an attractive and convenient film policy, which has enticed many filmmakers into shooting in the state.
The state has made many films tax-free in the past which include
Tevar, Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho, Hamari Adhuri Kahani and
Masaan.
