Superstar Shah Rukh Khan revealed on Instagram on Sunday that, many years ago, it was he who named Shanelle, daughter of his friend Zubin Irani and stepdaughter of Union Minister Smriti Irani. SRK and Zubin Irani have been friends since they were little, SRK revealed while reposting a photo of Shanelle, now studying law in the US. The picture was shared by Smriti Irani, who only joined Instagram last week and follows Shah Rukh Khan. She wrote: "#Familyphoto, someone is being missed sorely." SRK, reposting the photo, wrote, "My childhood friend Zubin's daughter is all grown up and so pretty. And just for the record, I named her Shanelle."
Shanelle, daughter of Zubin Irani and his ex-wife Mona, is currently a law student at Georgetown University. Smriti Irani, a former actress best-known for playing Tulsi in the Balaji serial Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
, married Zubin Irani in 2001. They have a son named Zohr and a daughter named Zoish. Ms Irani is now the Minister for Textiles.
Smriti Irani made her debut on Instagram last week and received a grand welcome from producer Ekta Kapoor with a throwback picture. She has since been quite busy on social media, posting about everything from work to her children's response to her Instagram activity. Check out this post from her:
