- Pitbull, known for hits like M.I.M.A.I., Armando and Planet pit, is said to be excited too about performing in Kolkata.
- "When Pitbull was told that he is being invited to perform at the opening ceremony of IPL and SRK would also be performing as well, he agreed to come within minutes," a source said.
- The edition will have nine teams fighting for the championship. The teams are Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Pune Warriors India, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.
