New Delhi:

Actress Shraddha Kapoor took her singing ambition a step further by lending her voice to a Kashmiri folk song in her upcoming film Haider, thanks to director Vishal Bhardwaj's knack for spotting talent. Shraddha made her singing debut with Galiyaan in her last film EK Villain.

In this video, the actor is initially seen struggling with the pronunciation but she is a fast learner. She picks up the lyrics and the subtle nuances of the language in a jiffy.

Mr Bhardwaj, who has also composed the music for the film, was thoroughly impressed by Shraddha and told her, "After listening to the song they (Kashmiris) would want to keep you with themselves."

The film, which is an adaptation of one of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies Hamlet is set against the scenic backdrop of Kashmir.

The film also stars Shahid Kapoor, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Irrfan Khan in pivotal roles and is slated to release on October 2.
