New Delhi: In her first audition itself, Sobhita Dhulipala managed to impress Anurag Kashyap and she said that the director has this unique ability of nurturing his actors to perfection.

Sobhita said that working in Raman Raghav 2.0 was like self-discovery.

"Getting a part in Raman Raghav 2.0 was an unbelievable moment. I couldn't believe that it was happening to me. I thought Anurag sir would be strict and I had a certain kind of perception about him. But he was warm and interactive," Sobhita told PTI.

"He nurtures his actors to perfection. He has taught me a lot. Anurag sir is someone every actor would want to work with. I feel really fortunate to have this opportunity so early," Sobhita said.

Sobhita plays the role of Simmy in the film and she describes her character as a "domesticated wolf."

"My character is like a domesticated wolf. She plays Raghav's love interest. As a person, she has a very strong sense of self. She is mysterious, intriguing, but at the same time very enduringly vulnerable. The relationship between Raghav and her is romantic but in a very twisted way," said Sobhita.

Inspired by the real-life story of serial killer Raman Raghav, the film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles of a psycho killer and a police officer.

For Sobhita, working with both the actors was more empowering than intimidating. The actress said that her co-stars motivated her to perform better.

"I am not trained in acting and all this is new to me. Within ten days of giving the audition, the shoot started. At first, I felt I will be intimidated as I adore both of them. But they are so dedicated. The passion they have towards their work, instead of intimidating me, it empowered me. There is so much sincerity in what they do. You just can't stop from giving your best," said Sobhita.

Sobhita, who calls herself an introvert and likes writing poetry, said that doing a dark film like this was strangely comforting for her.

"It was so enjoyable to play something so intense. As a person, I am an introvert. I am a backpacker. I write dark poetry. So, for me connecting with the character on a fundamental level was very comforting in a very strange way," said Sobhita.

"There is a lot of depth in each of the character. People will have a lot more questions about themselves after watching the movie. It is very introspective and engaging," added Sobhita.

Raman Raghav 2.0 will release on June 24.
