Sushant Singh Rajput Says Reality Bites, Don't Need Censor Board

Sushant Singh promoting Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! at a Mumbai college

Mumbai:

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who will next be seen as a detective in Dibakar Banerjee's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! set in the 1940s, recently attended a fashion show, inspired by his dhoti-clad Byomkesh Bakshy look in the film, organised by college students in Mumbai on February 25. Sushant lent some of his old world charm to the fashion show and for once, Sushant didn't let just his good looks do the talking.

The normally reticent Sushant was rather vocal on the recent Censor Board developments in which a list of cuss words were recently declared off-limits for filmmakers and films like Badlapur, NH10 and Dum Laga Ke Haisha asked to edit abuses that appeared on the list out of their dialogues. Sushant said, "It's ironic that we complain about our films being escapist. If you guys are expecting us to live upto the expectations of being real, I don't think we need a censor for it."

He may make for a rather dashing detective in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, but with cricket fever spiralling due to the ongoing World Cup, Sushant's role of Team India captain MS Dhoni in Neeraj Pandey's biopic titled MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has everyone excited. Speaking about his role in the biopic set to release in October, Sushant said "I've been working on this film for the last 8 months. I am making all the efforts so that when you watch the film, you don't feel any visual jerk."

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, which stars Sushant as the eponymous Bengali sleuth solving his first case in colonial Calcutta, will release on April 3.
