Sushant will soon be seen on the silver screen in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!
No more Mr Shy Guy. Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput looked rather confident as he reached a radio station in Mumbai on Friday morning to promote his latest film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!
When asked whether he was working on his public image, Sushant said, "What do you think? I am still the guy who speaks the truth, only this time I keep one eye on my PR officer."
After films like Kai Po Che! and Shuddh Desi Romance, Sushant started keeping a low profile. The actor was reportedly asked to stay away from the media since Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! would show him in a different light altogether, but now, since the film is ready to roll, Sushant is out and about. He even has words of praise for the first look of Bombay Velvet after the trailer of the film was released just before the India vs Bangladesh World Cup quarter-final.
"I have seen it and really loved the trailer.
Ek toh Anurag is my favourite director and I like Ranbir, but most importantly Anushka Sharma is the one I love and she is amazing as an actor," he said.
Given that both
Bombay Velvet and
Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! are period films, Sushant's interest is obvious. Also, the fact that he made it a point to bring up Anushka shows how the former Mr Shy Guy is using the media to get his point across to a fellow actor who's dating Virat Kohli. It could perhaps be a great help for his next film - the biopic on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
