Today's Big Release: Kangana and Imran's Katti Batti

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan's much awaited film Katti Batti releases today.

Directed by Nikhil Advani, Katti Batti features Kangana as the free-spirited Payal and Imran as Maddy, who falls in love with but ultimately loses her. Their love story ends five years later, along the way they've begun living together but discover that commitment is a notion that is not limited to sharing a bedroom.

Kangana recently said in an interview that her role in Katti Batti has been her toughest yet. "This character is the most tragic character I have played so far. Tragedy to another level. I was crying all the time, I lost my appetite and broke down on any situation," Kangana told news agency IANS.

MSG - 2: The Messenger, which stars Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim, releases with far less ado than the first film MSG: The Messenger opened in February.

Gangs Of Wasseypur writer Zeishan Quadri directs Meeruthiya Gangsters, featuring Jaideep Ahlawat, Sanjay Mishra, Nushrat Bharucha, Aakash Dahiya, and Mukul Dev.

Co-presented by Anurag Kashyap, Meeruthiya Gangsters is based on the increasing number of extortions in Meerut. The film narrates the journey of six youngsters who become kidnappers. Cricketer Suresh Raina has sung a song in the film.

Meanwhile, Hollywood has Baltasar Kormakur's film Everest and Scott Cooper's Black Mass on offer. Black Mass is a crime thriller which features Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton and Dakota Johnson in pivotal roles. Based on the book Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob by Dick Lehr and Gerard O'Neill, the film narrates the journey of gangster Whitey Bulger who is later discovered to be an FBI informant.

Everest stars Jason Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal and Emily Watson, and revolves around a mountaineering journey which is affected by a relentless snow-storm.
