Vaani Kapoor has been zeroed in for Aditya Chopra's Befikre.

Vaani, who's first and last (so far) Bollywood venture has been the 2013 Yash Raj production Shuddh Desi Romance, opens up about the "tuff" years she has had since her debut which also starred Parineeti Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput. She confesses that while she expected offers to pour in, the scenario was just opposite.

Only two-movies old, actress Vaani Kapoor is the heroine of Aditya Chopra's next project as director, Befikre, which also stars Ranveer Singh as her male counterpart. The 27-year-old actress reveals the news in a video set in a dingy space, which turns out to be Yash Raj Film's casting office. The almost three-minute-long clip is much reminiscent of a revelation made by Ranveer only last week. (Also Read: Ranveer Singh is Aditya Chopra's Befikre Hero. He Has a Story For You)

Just when she was about to falter, came to her rescue Aditya Chopra, who has 'mentor'ed renowned filmmaker Karan Johar and shared one or two career advices with actress Parineeti Chopra, to help make a comeback.
And a very overwhelmed Vaani said that following Mr Chopra's guidance, she "waited..and waited..and waited..for the right project." And here it is!

Aditya Chopra, arguably one of Bollywood's most powerful filmmakers, has directed just three films so far - the romantic classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi - all of which starred Shah Rukh Khan.
Mr Chopra calls Befikre his "riskiest" and "youngest" film and is making a comeback to the director's chair after a hiatus of seven years with it. He announced the news officially on September 27, which was his father and veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra's 83rd birth anniversary.
