Music maestro A R Rahman said that the intolerance debate is becoming poetic in India.
"Any type of revolt should be classical. It is becoming very poetic rather than people people hitting each other. We should set an example because we come from the land of Mahatma Gandhi. We have shown the world how revolution can be done without violence," said Rahman.
On November 23, Aamir Khan said that he was 'alarmed by a number of incidents.' Speaking at the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism in Delhi, Mr Khan also said, "When I chat with Kiran at home, she says, 'Should we move out of India?' That's a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day."
The actor was criticised for his comments on intolerance as the ruling BJP dismissed his statements as 'alarmist.' Several Congress leaders, on the other hand, have spoken in support of the actor.(Also Read:

Recently, Shah Rukh Khan was also criticised for his comment on 'extreme intolerance.' He was called a 'Pakistani agent.'
Rahman had also faced religious resistance as he composed music for the film
Muhammad: The Messenger of God.
"I have gone through something similar some time ago. And at that time, I had also mentioned that nothing should be violent. We are ultra-civilised people. It is a chaotic protest. We should show the world that we are one of the most civilised cultures," added Rahman.
