Music maestro A R Rahman will perform in New Delhi at the NH7 Weekender, as the state government announced a new 'event policy' for bolstering tourism and revenue, which will see it help promote such programmes in association with a body of event management companies. (Also Read:

Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said that the branding and regulatory support to such programmes for incentivising large-scale entertainment events is to attract them to Delhi and make the national capital a hub of cultural activity.
"In the past, we have cleared Zubin Mehta's concert in 24 hours. His second concert was cleared in 20 minutes. This was done through a single-window clearance system and easing of licensing norms. Delhi government's new event policy will not only bolster excise revenue manifold but also help make Delhi a hub of cultural and entertainment events," Mr Mishra said.
NH7 Weekender, one of India's premier music festivals, will be held at Dwarka Sector 10 from November 28-29.
Apart from Rahman, global names like Mark Ronson, Flying Lotus, Mogwai, Rodrigo y Gabriela, SBTRKT and Indian artistes like Vishal Dadlani, Niladri Kumar, L Subramaniam, Arka, V Selvaganesh, Hriday Gattani, Nucleya, Parikrama, The Raghu Dixit Project, Ankur & The Ghalat Family and Swarathma will also perform at the two-day event.
Regarding Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA), the body of event management companies, the minister said, "EEMA represents some of the biggest event and entertainment agencies, which put together some of the greatest shows, festivals, concerts and entertainment events in the country.
"We are proud to offer the entire event industry joint branding support to promote these events in Delhi. This move will be a real move towards mutually beneficial public-private partnership and usher in an era of actual minimum government and maximum governance across the city," he added.
He also said that the Delhi government will "work with the Delhi Police constructively on single window event clearance and appreciates their support in this regard".
Meanwhile, in an apparent jibe at the Centre, Mr Mishra said that while Delhi has implemented systems that ease the pursuit of business, others have only made slogans their sole purpose.
The minister also said that he himself had bought tickets for the event so people should desist from asking for free passes for the concert.
