The 74-year-old singer is scheduled to perform in the state capital on January 15 and in Kozhikode on January 17, at the invitation of social organisation Swaralaya.

An official of Swaralaya said that the singer had confirmed his participation.

The organisation would also honour the legendary musician during the function. However, the singer could not be reached for comments.

The musician had agreed to perform in Mumbai and Pune on the fourth death anniversary of late Indian Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh before the Shiv Sena protests scuttled his visit to India.

Two of the singer's scheduled concerts, one in Mumbai and one in Pune, in October, were cancelled following protests from Shiv Sena. He had also called off his Delhi programme, scheduled to happen on November 8, citing personal reasons.
