New Delhi: When singer Ricky Martin came on the Ellen Degeneres Show recently little did the world know that he would announce his engagement to conceptual artist Jwan Yosef. The TV chat show host and the singer were talking about him performing in Las Vegas and just out of nowhere, Ellen said, 'You are in love' and Ricky replied, 'Yeah'. And the audience went crazy clapping. Ellen then threw a series of questions at the Livin' la Vida Loca singer to scoop the details. Just to let you, it was Ricky who proposed.

A sweaty Ricky, who gushed while talking about the love of his life, narrated the heartwarming story of how the couple got together. So it appears that Ricky is an art collector who 'loved' Syrian-born Jwan's work but had never seen the artist. "I had no idea how he looked like and then I saw how he looked like and I was like, 'Yeah' and we just got engaged," the Puerto Rican singer said.

The couple has been together since a year now since Ricky popped the question.

"I was really nervous but I got on my knees and took out the little... not a box...velvet pouch and instead of saying will you marry me I said, 'I got you something'," Ricky said and burst out into a laughter.

Continuing the story, he said, "I said, 'I want to spend the rest of my life with you' and he said, 'What's the question?'. 'Would you marry me,' I asked."

And it was a 'very beautiful' moment said a visibly overwhelmed Ricky. Ellen was left speechless for a moment and then congratulated the 44-year-old singer.
