Farhan Akhtar, as Magik's lead singer Aditya, fronts the number, performed to a roaring crowd with the Gateway of India in the background.
Rock On 2, a sequel to the 2008 hit, has added Shraddha Kapoor to its cast but the Magik performing Jaago appears to be pre-Shraddha. Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli perform on guitar and drums as Joe and KD respectively. As the YouTube description reveals, this is Magik's first performance since the death of keyboardist Rob, played by Luke Kenny, in the first film.
As the title suggests, Jaago is a call to action for the youth, urging them to wake up and make it in the world. The musical team of the original film return for this outing - Jaago has lyrics by Farhan's dad Javed Akhtar and music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
The concert scenes have been choreographed by Bosco-Caesar. Farhan Akhtar shares vocal credits with Shankar Mahadevan's son Siddharth. Backing vocals are by Nihaal Shetty, Loy Mendonsa, Ehsaan Noorani, Shankar Mahadevan and Soumil Shringarpure.
