Born in Hyderabad, Aditi Rao Hydari belongs to the family of the Raja of Wanaparthy.
Aditi started training in classical dance at the age of six. She learnt Bharatnatyam under the guidance of the much renowned dance instructor Leela Samson.
Aditi went to school in Bangalore and graduated from Lady Sri Ram College in Delhi University.
In 2006, Aditi made her acting debut with Malayalam film Prajapathi opposite Mammootty.
Aditi's talent for dance landed her the lead role in 2007 Tamil film Sringaram. Directed by Sharada Ramanathan, the movie was based on classical dance and received both commercial success and critical acclaim. Sringaram bagged three prizes at the 53rd National Film Awards and two at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
In 2009, Aditi was seen in a supporting role in Bollywood's Delhi-6, starring Abhishek Bachchan.
In 2011, she was seen in her breakout film - Sudhir Mishra's Yeh Saali Zindagi 2011.
She played a journalist in Rockstar, starring Ranbir Kapoor, the same year.
The following year, she was seen romancing Ali Zafar in London Paris New York. Her performance was singled out for praise.
In 2013, Aditi was seen in Boss, starring Akshay Kumar and Asin.
In 2014, she appeared in a cameo role in Sonam Kapoor's Khoobsurat.
In 2015, Aditi featured in Guddu Rangeela, which also starred Arshad Warsi, Amit Sadh and Ronit Roy. The film received performed relatively well at the box office.
