With Delhi election round the corner, key parties; the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have started their campaign. Delhi Assembly elections will be held on February 8 and counting will take place on February 11, with results expected the same day. The term of the 70-member Delhi Assembly ends February 22 and a new government must be in place before that date.

Delhi Chief Minister AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal during a press conference at the party headquarters, in New Delhi. During the press conference he said, "The BJP and the MCD have made Delhi the garbage capital of India, with open ''dhalaos'' (community dustbins) and garbage dumped in every nook and corner of the city." Mr Kejriwal presented the MCD report card to the media.

Congress' ShashiTharoor during a live session called "Dilli Ke Dil Ki Baat, Congress Ke Saath: Education Samvaad. This session was conducted in order to take questions, ideas and suggestions for Congress 2020 manifesto.

Union Minister Smriti Irani along with Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari launch BJP's Delhi campaign "'Meri Dilli, Mera Sujhav''. The BJP said it will keep around 1,600 special boxes across the city to gather suggestions. The leaders also released a mobile number for people to give their suggestion for the manifesto.

Arvind Kejriwal's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at the launch of its campaign for Assembly elections in Delhi. AAP, which won 67 of 70 seats in the last election, will fight this one in collaboration with master strategist Prashant Kishor's consultancy firm Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), which has been widely credited for "chai pe charcha" campaign that helped the BJP to power in 2014.
